Grand Coulee Police
7/13 - A Grand Coulee RV Park resident was arrested for harassment and threatening to kill, then taken to jail. Following a social situation in which the man was texting a woman he had a history with, while both were at another residence, the man had reportedly made suicidal remarks. Police then spoke to him at his residence in the RV park. After police left, the man allegedly made threats toward law enforcement and the people who reported him, prompting police to return to arrest him.
7/14 - Police responded to a report of a man wearing shorts and no shirt, twitching, and acting strange in front of Safeway. Police recognized him from previous contacts and asked if he was OK. He said he was.
- A couple were banned from The Eagles Lodge after a woman allegedly slapped a bartender and tried to slap another woman after being told the bar was closing and they couldn’t get a drink.
7/16 - A white SUV hit a sign near the Grand Coulee Dam Visitor Center and knocked it down before driving off. Police were unable to identify the license plate of the vehicle from security footage.
- A woman was banned from a Spokane Way residence. The woman had dated a man at the residence years prior and had asked for a place to stay but was acting strangely and talking to herself. When asked to leave, she hit a woman’s car and yelled at her, but didn’t damage the car.
7/17 - Police performed a welfare check on a woman at the Continental Heights apartments who requested an ambulance. Police stood by until the ambulance arrived.
- A man reported gas siphoned and stolen from two vehicles parked near Coulee Boulevard.
7/18 - People were reported as being loud at Osborn Bay and trying to start their boat on dry land. Police drove around the area but didn’t see anyone matching the description.
- Police checked on a woman on Continental Heights who had reported not getting adequate food from her caregiver. Police found the woman to have food and to otherwise be able to get around her apartment well. The woman is said to have dementia.
- A man with an open carry pistol was reported as intimidating campers at Sunbanks Resort. A clerk told police someone lit mortar-style fireworks, one of which had hit the tent of the man with the gun. He then went to another man’s camp and stated he was with ATF and that he was a fireman and a county deputy. Police spoke to another man who said he had worked with ATF during his fire career, and that he and the man with the gun were trying to find who lit the fireworks. He showed police where the firework hit two tents, including near his head, and that a duffle bag prevented him from being hit by the firework, which also hit the bumper of a motorhome. The man with the gun was told to stay away from the other campsites.
Coulee Dam Police
7/12 - An officer assisted in the situation of a semi truck being stuck on the Coulee Dam bridge. He spoke to the driver and asked him to back up in order to adjust the boom on the truck to become unstuck and get off the bridge to make room for firefighters responding to a fire in Nespelem.
7/17 - An officer directed traffic near Lakeview Terrace in Lincoln County in response to a wildfire report in that area.
7/18 - Police responded to the Columbia River Inn in response to a report of a couple arguing and throwing things. Police spoke to the pair. The woman said the man wanted to have sex but she didn’t, leading to the argument. Nothing was broken and no violence appeared to have occured. The two separated.
