Grand Coulee Police

6/15 - Police didn’t observe any puppies at large near Bachelor Square but did talk to the owner who wasn’t sure how the puppies could have gotten out.

- A woman was pulled over on Midway Avenue for driving with a shattered windshield. An officer noted that she seemed indifferent about the shattered windshield. She was cited for the windshield as well as for driving without insurance.

6/16 - A woman on Electric Boulevard reported that she never received a package from her aunt containing stitched fabric of a family tree. She said her neighbor had earlier in the day approached her while in a drunken state and told her he had received the package back in April, got angry, and threw it. The man told police that he may have received the package accidently but remembered receiving a package addressed to him, opening it, and throwing it away, thinking the item was strange. The man said he drinks frequently and doesn’t remember anything for sure about the incident. He said he apologized to the woman.

6/18 - A man reported that a man who lives at the Continental Heights apartments, against whom he has a protection order, threw a firecracker at him while he was walking by the apartment building. Police observed fragments of a firecracker on the ground and determined the resident lives within throwing distance of where it landed. The case is being forwarded to the county for possible prosecution of the violation of the protection order. 

- A man on Main Street reported a “crazy” woman sticking her head into his apartment window, asking him if he knew where her mom was. Police found the woman nearby. The tenant stepped outside briefly and said he was “too old for this ….” The woman was arrested for being wanted on a separate arrest. She went “from compliant to erratic” with the arrest, the police report states, attempting to bite one of the officers. She was charged with resisting arrest and was taken to Grant County Jail.

- Two men fought outside their apartments on Main Street. Allegedly, one of the men’s “weiner dog” had ventured into the other’s yard, prompting him to yell at the dog’s owner. The argument turned physical. The dog’s owner showed blood and abrasions on his lip and forehead. He chose not to press charges against the other man.

- Police assisted an intoxicated man into his Continental Heights apartment. 

6/19 - A woman camping at Osborn Bay reported her truck, with a motorcycle in the bed, had been taken without permission after an argument over a campsite. The truck was found at the Skydeck Motel. The man and woman had dated years prior, she said. She also had a protection order against the man. She didn’t wish to press charges for taking her truck. The man was arrested and taken to jail for violating the protection order. 

- A suspicious man was reported on Hillcrest Avenue, yelling profanities and about losing his pills and needing someone to pay his bills. Police were unable to locate a man matching the description.

6/19 - A man and woman argued in the H&H Grocery parking lot. The woman said the man hit her, and that she threw a brick at his truck, and that he tried to throw the brick at her, threw a soda at her, and drove off. The woman showed no injuries. The man was found at the casino in Coulee Dam and said that she threw the brick at his truck but he neither threw it at her nor hit her, and that she had thrown soda at him in the truck. Police saw soda on the driver’s side of the truck and observed damage to it. Police suspect the woman was lying, and she could face charges of malicious mischief. 

- Pornography was found in a vent at a Batchelor Square residence when the current residents were cleaning. They thought the women in a book and DVD’s looked too young. Police attempted to contact the landlord to find out who past residents were but couldn’t reach him. When police looked at the bag containing the pornography items, they saw a receipt from Barnes and Noble from 2007 for the book titled The Age of Innocence, and noted the DVD’s were also labeled. The pornography was put into an evidence locker and will be destroyed. 

6/19 - A man on Main Street reported a gold-colored Jeep had been following him and his friends around town, and he believed it was someone who had recently gotten out of jail. Police looked around for the vehicle but didn’t locate it.

6/20 - A woman on Palmer Avenue was arrested and taken to jail for assault following an incident in which she allegedly tore her boyfriend’s shirt and scratched his chest. 

6/21 - A man camping at Coulee Playland had $1,500-$2,000 worth of tackle boxes and crates containing fishing equipment stolen.

Coulee Dam Police

6/14 - A woman was reported as “acting high, dancing around” at a Fir Street address that has been abandoned but was recently purchased by someone. Police recognized a woman known to be homeless there. She is known by police to frequent places that aren’t hers in Grand Coulee and Coulee Dam. She came out of the house and police saw beer cans and personal items inside the home. Police confirmed with the purchaser of the home, who lives in Everett, that she is not allowed there. She was allowed to clean up her mess and said she was going to stay in the park. She was cited for criminal trespassing and warned not to return to the property, or she would be arrested. The next day, her tent was found at Mason Park and police put it in their garage to dry out. She was not at the park at the time. More of her belongings were found back at the Fir Street address, and police determined she had been back to the residence. The officer saw her later at the hardware store in Grand Coulee and arrested her for burglary, as well as for resisting arrest.

6/16 - A man reported his tools stolen from the bus garage in Coulee Dam where he had left his tools and was going to work on a bus. Total value of the tools was estimated at about $900.
