Police
6/6 - A man reported things stolen from his unattended campsite at Osborn Bay. The man had observed some shady looking men in an orange/yellow work truck near his campsite looking around his vehicle. They left when he approached them. The missing items include a battery, LED lights, and more, and are valued at a total of about $250.
6/8 - A woman was banned from the Continental Heights apartments and left without incident. She was alleged to have smoked meth at the apartments at one point.
- A loose puppy was reported on Roosevelt Drive. Police were unable to contact the man who is thought to be the owner.
6/9 - Police stood by at the hospital where staff were concerned a patient’s boyfriend, who has a history of being combative at the hospital, would show up. When he showed up, he was cooperative in staying in the waiting area.
6/10 - Police spoke to an arguing couple on Main Street who had recently moved to the area. The argument was determined to have not escalated to physical violence.
- Police helped an elderly woman on Dill Avenue who was locked inside of her own home. Police unlocked the door. The woman was alert, but angry about the door. Police told her son about the situation.
- Two drivers pulled into the police station and spoke with police about an incident on the road in which they said one car pulled out of the H&H Groceries parking lot in front of an oncoming car, failing to yield. Both drivers flipped each other off. There was no collision.
6/11 - A woman found an arrow in her yard where her dog lies and was concerned someone may have been trying to shoot the dog. A neighbor said that another neighbor was shooting arrows at a target and when he missed one, he wasn’t sure where it was. Police were unable to contact the man said to have been shooting arrows.
- A woman who had shoplifted from the variety store in May was told she was banned from the store.
- A woman was arrested near Miller Street after a fight with her father during an argument. The man had blood on his shirt and nose, and scratches on his arms. The woman was said to have broken his phone as well. She was taken to the hospital first because her head hurt, and then to jail.
6/12 - Police searched the Bowen Street area for a truck that a man said his daughter stole from his Nespelem residence. Police didn’t see the truck in the area where the daughter is said to stay.
- Police gathered details about a fight that occurred at the Chevron station in Coulee Dam. Two men, identified by a witness, were said to have hit each other a few times before taking off on foot in separate directions. Police didn’t see any blood near the entrance to the gas station where the fight took place. Since the men involved in the fight had not reported the incident and had left, and were determined to not have sustained serious injuries, the case was considered closed.
- Police went to the variety store where a man was being argumentative with staff. The man wanted to return hair clippers his wife had bought. They wanted him to wait outside while they processed the refund but he refused. Police spoke to the man outside, the return was processed, and he was asked not to return to the store again.
- Police responded to B Street about a vehicle dispute. One man was buying a Buick LeSabre for two payments of $300. The seller wouldn’t let the buyer take the vehicle until he received the first payment. The buyer removed his things from the vehicle, gave the key to the officer and left the area.
Coulee Dam
- An elderly woman on Cedar Street said she only had one miles worth of gas in her car. An officer put a gallon of gas from his garage in her car then followed her to the gas station to make sure she made it there. While there, he helped pump the gas and paid for it with his personal debit card.
