Vendors are being selected for the Colorama festival, and the usual parade looks likely.

Grand Coulee Dam Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Rachelle Haven told The Star in an email that roughly 20 food and market vendors are being selected, and that the chamber is still receiving applications.

The parade is still being finalized but looks like it will happen as it has traditionally.

"We have applied for all the proper permitting and worked with the Grant County Health Department to make sure a parade is feasible with COVID guidelines," Haven explained.

Haven said she is working with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation to open B Street near the fire station being constructed along SR-155 so as to be able to take the traditional parade route down Midway Avenue. B Street is used as a detour while the parade route is closed. The city allowed the Bureau to close it during construction.

Haven spoke with a USBR project manager on Tuesday who informed her that "they are working on getting that area cleared for the parade." and that "they are highly hopeful that they will be able to open it," she said.

Haven said she needs a clear yes or no answer by Friday for the parade to take place.
