Betty Lorraine Desautel Barnaby, 89, born February 18, 1931, in Nespelem, Washington, to Albert and Myrtle Peone Desautel, died October 30, 2020. Betty spent most of her early life growing up near the Nespelem, Washington area. She married Donald Barnaby in 1948, and began her life as a homemaker.

She is survived by her children: Bonnie (Frank), Becky (Dale), Anna, Boozer “Morris”, Karen (Jim), Brian, Cheryl, and Lisa (Jeff); 10 grandchildren: David, Dawn, Kasey, Nichelle, Nick, Jason, Jarred-Michael, Lauren, Jessica and Tanner; and 18 great-grandchildren: AshLee, Sadie, Steven, Tyler, Chance, Sean “Sissy”, Trevan, Traitan, Twila, Clyde, Landon, Reese, Canyon, Lakes, Pemberly, Rafe, Ryatt and Amelia. She is also survived by her sister, Edie (Joe) and brothers: Gary and Bill (Patti); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Donald; her parents, seven brothers and two sisters.

Due to the pandemic, no services will be held for Betty.

Her family would like to extend gratitude to Coulee Medical Center’s Long-Term staff, Dr. Castrodale, Kari Fields and Nurse Wendy for their kindness and care of our mother.
