Grand Coulee

Police

10/8 - A woman on Jackson Avenue reported finding drug needles under the hood of her newly purchased car. An officer collected the needles and brought them to the police station to be destroyed.

10/12 - A dog owner on 1st Street was cited for his dog, a pit bull, biting a neighbor’s chihuahua. Another person saw it happen.

- Police responded to a report of a woman yelling at cars along Spokane Way. The woman was trying to hitch a ride to the casino. An officer gave her a courtesy ride there.

10/13 - A Burdin Boulevard woman was cited for noisy dogs, too many dogs (she had three when city ordinance allows for two) and unlicensed dogs. Police noted the dogs appeared in good health but didn’t have food or water at the time and were chained in a yard with lots of feces, conditions on the verge of animal cruelty, the officer’s report noted.

10/15 - The owners of apartments on Continental Heights reported that a tenant had stolen from a common area a minifridge belonging to another tenant, who was told she could press charges if she wanted. Since the owners of the apartments are not the owners of the fridge, there is no crime as of yet, unless the fridge owner decides to file a report.

10/16 - A Doberman and rottweiler attacked another dog in a yard on Miller Avenue. None of the dogs appeared hurt. The owners of the attacking dogs were told of the incident and told police they would handle it. No charges were filed.

- An officer found a man’s wallet. The man was located at the Spring Canyon apartments and his wallet returned to him.

10/18 - A white pit bull was said to be disturbing other dogs while running at large around Burdin Boulevard. Police were unable to locate it.

Police

10/12 - An officer saw a white Chevy passenger car with expired tabs on River Drive and followed it to pull it over. The vehicle turned onto Elmer City Access Road and sped up to about 85 miles per hour as the officer activated his siren and lights to pull the vehicle over. The car turned onto Third Street in Elmer City and the officer lost sight of it near Front Street. The car was found on Front Street, and a witness said a man and woman got out of the car and walked away, going separate directions. Tribal police also arrived. The driver wasn’t found and the car was towed.

- Two neighbors on Cedar Street argued about cats. One woman said she can hear cats crying in another woman’s garage and wants her to let them out. That woman said there is a hole in the garage the cats can get in and out of. The first woman wants the other to fix the hole. Police told her they can’t make her do that.

- A man on Central Drive told police a gas tank worth about $60 was stolen from an aluminum boat parked in his driveway.

10/14 - A woman at the high school reported damage to her Subaru Outback. There was damage to the passenger side door as if it had been backed into. She wasn’t sure where the damage had occurred.

10/16 - A driver was pulled over on Columbia Avenue for failure to stop at a stop sign and for talking on his cell phone, for which he was cited. He was wanted on felony warrants out of California, but the county jail wouldn’t take him. The officer told the man about the warrants, but the man asked for more details, saying he shouldn’t have any warrants. Eventually, the county dispatch called the officer back and told him the warrants were actually out of Florida. The officer called the man back and left a message saying that.
