A software start to school

Lake Roosevelt Schools started Tuesday, beginning with conferences on the details of this first all-online quarter of the 2020-21 school year during the pandemic. Students and their parents or guardians arrived outside the school, where they had their temperatures taken and were asked about health symptoms. Inside, they picked up T-shirts, info packets, and checked out Chromebooks, one per household for now. When another order of the devices comes in, there will be one for every student. The students and their guardians then met with teachers on how and when they'll meet online, protocols, software and operating Chromebooks, which are laptops designed to operate all online through Google's Chrome web browser. Conferences continue today and tomorrow. - Jacob Wagner photo
