2/24 - A Batchelor Square man complained about his neighbor’s wood stove, saying that the odor and smoke cause him respiratory problems, and he believes the wood being burned isn’t seasoned. An officer told the man he couldn’t test the air quality, and suggested the man write a detailed complaint to the Environmental Protection Agency to see how they handle these types of issues.

2/26 - There was a dispute involving an intoxicated woman who left the Hi-Dam Tavern and a man who was called to give her a ride. The intoxicated man and woman were said to be arguing. The woman accused the man of assaulting her, but police noted no signs of assault. The bar closed for the night after the drama, and the man and woman agreed to separate for the night.

- No charges were filed after an incident on Continental Heights in which one man said he pushed another man to the ground after being verbally harassed. A witness confirmed that the man was defending himself, and he was released. The man who had been pushed to the ground was taken to the hospital and told he was behaving in a disorderly manner.

2/27 - A Jeep on Dill Avenue was reported to have been running for hours. An officer contacted the owner, who turned the car off.

- An officer spotted a man he knew to be wanted on a warrant driving a car on Alcan Road near Yakima Street. The officer pulled the driver over and told him to get out of the car. The man complied, but then took off on foot, running through the streets in the area and through a snow-covered field, eventually turning himself in on Spokane Boulevard, saying he was tired of running. The man said he didn’t feel like going to jail that day, and was just testing the officer’s cardio, that it was all in good fun, and asked the officer not to charge him with any more crimes. The man was taken to the police station where he was able to drink some water and catch his breath. He was also charged with an escape attempt and obstructing law enforcement. He was taken to Grant County Jail.

2/28 - Responding to a report of a suspicious person near Lincoln Avenue and Electric Avenue, an officer found a man who said he’d had a panic attack, but was fine, and wanted to walk home.

- A man known to be wanted on a warrant was spotted near Safeway, arrested, and taken to Grant County Jail.

3/1 - A man was given a speeding ticket for going 45 mph in the 30-mph zone on SR-155 after being pulled over near the top of the dam.

3/2 - While assisting with a traffic stop, an officer noticed that the driver of the vehicle had a no-contact order against the woman passenger. The driver said he had the no-contact order dropped, and that he lived with her. The officer confirmed the no-contact order through dispatch, then placed the woman in wrist restraints, although the man was adamant that the no-contact order had been dropped. The officer took the woman to their residence, where the man provided paperwork showing the no-contact order had been dismissed. The officer released the woman and suggested that they contact the courts to clear up the confusion.

- A man at Continental Heights requested police check on the welfare of a resident at his apartment complex. He said there was a loud TV on at the residence, and the man wasn’t answering the door. With an officer present, he opened the door to the residence with his master key, and they found the man asleep and breathing normally. The TV was turned off, and they decided not to wake the man.

2/28 - An officer contacted public works to turn off the water to a Central Drive residence where a leak was reported.

3/1 - An officer assisted on an emergency call involving a Stevens Avenue person being taken to the hospital.

- A man was lying on the snow, unresponsive, near Sixth Street and Fir Street. The officer smelled intoxicants on the man, whom he knew to be wanted on warrants. The man was taken by ambulance to the hospital. Once he was cleared to leave, the officer started to take him to jail. While escorting him to the police car, the nurses and the man slipped and fell on the ice, and the man hit his head. A bandaid was placed on the cut, and he was taken to Okanogan County Jail.
