It had to happen sooner or later.
An annual event that has served as a fundraiser and annual kickoff to the local holiday season is making a fundamental change, organizers announced: the penny auction will become “The Ten-Penny Auction” this year when it’s held on Nov. 17, the Saturday before Thanksgiving, at the Lake Roosevelt High School gym.
