The Lady Raiders played two close games last week, losing by one point against the Bridgeport Fillies, and winning by one point against the Manson Lady Trojans.

At home on Oct. 2, the Lady Raiders played against the Bridgeport Fillies on a windy day.

The ball was noticeably affected by the wind on many kicks as it flew through the air.

"LR played very well," said Head Coach Casey Moore. "A huge improvement from the first time we played them. Although having many attempts in the second half, LR couldn't score."

Maddie Toulou scored the Lady Raiders' only goal for the game in the first half.

The final score was 2-1, Bridgeport.

On Oct. 4 in Manson, the Lady Raiders won 2-1 against the Lady Trojans.

"The team played well against Manson," Moore said. "Bryn Chaffee scored off an assist from Sadi Trotter."

The score was 1-1 at the end of the regular game, and neither team scored in overtime, leading to a "shootout," in which teams take turns taking shots on the opponents goal. LR won the shootout, making the final score 2-1.

"For the second time in three years, LR had to do a shootout with Manson," Moore noted.

Oly Antone, Maddie Toulou, and Sadi Trotter each scored in the game.

"The MVP for the game was Laelah Pakootas," Moore said. "The win came from Laelah's blocks against Manson's penalty shots. It was exciting!"

The Lady Raiders played yesterday at home against Brewster, results of which will be reported in next week's Star.

They'll play in Tonasket against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11. On Tuesday, Oct. 16, LR will host Oroville in Grand Coulee at 4:30 p.m.
