Grand Coulee

10/1 - A woman reported her chop saw, used to cut wood, went missing from outside the Trail West Motel.

- A driver, pulled over for having a tail light out, was cited for the light and for driving with his license suspended. The man said he had ordered the light and was going to replace it.

10/2 - At the request of the manager, police told a woman sleeping in her car around 9 p.m. in the Safeway parking lot to leave. The woman said that wouldn’t be a problem.

- A man was cited for speeding on SR-155, going 45 mph in a 30 mph zone near Pole Park.

- A man’s 1999 Volkswagen Jetta was stolen from his Grand Coulee Ave. address while he was elsewhere, sometime between 5 p.m. and 1 a.m. The man said the car was locked and the keys weren’t inside.

10/3 - Police assisted Colville Tribal Police in an incident of shots possibly being fired on Pine Street in Coulee Dam. The loud bang turned out to be a blown electrical transformer.

- A woman reported her iPhone 6 Plus in a pink wallet case stolen from the patio area of the Electric City Tavern.

- A driver pulled over near SR-155 for having expired tabs said she was borrowing the car. The officer issued her a citation for the expired tabs, and for driving an uninsured car.

10/5 - A man prowling a truck refused to leave when confronted by the truck owner, but fled before police arrived. Police were unable to find the man. No damage was done to the truck, which was locked.

- A drunken woman refused to leave the Dill Ave. residence of her babysitter, who was watching her two children. The woman had a sober friend to drive her home and agreed with the police officer that she would “sleep it off.” She had wanted her kids to come home with her, but the babysitter was worried about her condition and that the baby needed to be fed about every two hours.

- A neighbor reported that a woman was smoking marijuana on Burdin Blvd. The officer informed the woman that, although recreational smoking of marijuana is legal, a person needs to do so out of the public view. The woman said she understood.

10/6 - An officer took a man from Banks Lake Pub to Okanogan County Jail after arresting him on a warrant.

10/7 - A Young Street man was taken to Grant County Jail on a domestic violence charge. The man and woman had conflicting reports of what happened. The officer noted the man was calm and cooperative.

- An officer removed rocks from SR-174, about a quarter mile outside of Grand Coulee, on a request for assistance from the Washington State Patrol.

- An E Street man described the bass of his neighbor’s music as “Chinese water torture,” and said that the loud noise is an ongoing issue. The neighbor apologized and said he’s been trying to keep it down, but a friend had turned it up earlier.

10/8 - An Electric City woman reported receiving a threatening text message saying, “watch your back.” She didn’t recognize the number.

Coulee Dam

10/1 - A woman reported her laptop stolen from her car while she was picking up her child from the daycare center on Mead.

10/2 - A man was issued a citation for making an improper left turn from River Drive onto Elmer City Access Road.

10/3 - A River Dr. man received a threatening phone call. An officer called the number back, and reached DirectTV. The officer informed the company “somebody or something” was using their number to make threats.

- A driver was issued a citation for going 42 mph in the 30 mph zone near Pole Park. The man said he was going 30.

10/6 - A transformer exploded on Spruce, something a caller thought was a gunshot. Nespelem Valley Electric was called in to solve the problem.
