Nelson Cox, who is running for Grant County PUD Commissioner, will be speaking at Chamber this Thursday, October 4. The group will be meeting at Siam Palace in Grand Coulee at noon.

Theater Auditions

Next Week

The Soap Lake Masquers Theatre will hold audition next week for its upcoming Christmas show “The Rented Christmas,” publicity co-chair Darryl Pheasant stated last week.

The auditions will take place Oct. 12 at 6 p.m. and Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. Show dates will be Nov. 30 to Dec. 9 for six shows, with Friday performances at 7p.m., and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.

Wenatchee Valley Erratics to Meet

Wenatchee Valley Erratics Chapter of the Ice Age Floods Institute will meet at 7 p.m.., Tuesday, October 9, at the Wenatchee Valley Museum, 127 South Mission, Wenatchee. “Exploring the Southern Ocean: Two Months in Antarctica and the Sub-Antarctic” will be the topic presented by Dr. John Buchanan, Prof. of Geology, EWU, who takes visitors to unfamiliar territory with stunning photographs from trips to the Southern Ocean. Geological highlights include plate tectonic evolution of the area, similarity of rocks in the Falklands to those in South Africa, spectacular rocks and glacial landforms on South Georgia, and intrusive igneous/sedimentary/volcanic rocks on the Antarctic Peninsula.
