The Lake Roosevelt High School track team competed in two events this past week: the Northeast 1B/2B League Meet in Springdale, and the 18th Annual Clifton Larson Allen Invitational.

“The Springdale meet was a learning and training meet,” said Head Coach Lori Adkins. “The atmosphere was relaxed and allowed athletes to compete with schools of their same size, and for some, compete in different events than their usual.”

The boys set five personal records between them during the event.

“On the boys’ side, our athletes came up strong scoring our highest point total of the season,” Adkins said.

The girls had their highlights too.

“Keianna Vera again led the girls team, placing in all four of her events,” Adkins said. “Marisha Hobrecht added depth, scoring in the shot put.”

In Quincy, most schools competing were 1A and 2A, giving the Raiders some good competition.

“The Raiders performed close to their personal-best times, jumps, and distances,” Adkins said. “We really had a great day!”

“Keianna Vera managed a season best in the 100 and personal best in the Long Jump continuing a string of standout performances for the girls’ team.

The Raiders next track meet takes place on Friday, April 28, in Peshastin for the Rieke Invitational, with the event scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.
