National Park Service officials reported to police that someone had prowled a vehicle and took a purse with two credit cards inside, which they later tried to use at the Safeway store in Grand Coulee.

The vehicle prowl occurred within the Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area.

When a woman, who was wearing a green camouflaged jacket and a pink Seahawks cap, tried to use one of the cards, the transaction was rejected. However, when she used the second card, the transaction went through, and was caught on camera.

In that transaction, the woman purchased some lotion, a Band-Aid bandage kit, Disney Band-Aids, Neosporin for kids, a pre-paid Visa card and a prepaid MasterCard. Total cost was $184.90.

A man had entered the store with the suspect, and the two communicated on several occasions.

Both the man and woman were caught on camera and police are still trying to identify the couple.

The couple face charges of identity theft in the second degree and theft in the third degree.
