Investigators following up on several leads into a set of Grand Coulee area crimes served a search warrant this morning (Feb. 25, 2016) at a Grand Coulee home.

Grant County’s Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team (INET), the U.S. Secret Service, Grand Coulee Police and Grant County sheriff’s deputies served a search warrant at 419 A Street in Grand Coulee. Investigators developed information that Melvin Toulou, age 43, had been storing stolen property at the home. Toulou was arrested Feb. 12 for possession of stolen property.

Investigators recently learned that a bank check, recently stolen during a Grand Coulee burglary, had been used to pay a utility bill for the A Street home. Toulou was not at the home during the raid, but the homeowner, Selena Adrian, age 28, was in the home. She was arrested on unrelated Grant and Adams county warrants and booked into the Grant County Jail.

In addition to stolen property, detectives recovered narcotics, drug paraphernalia and weapons from the A Street home, the sheriff’s office said. Charges of trafficking stolen property, defrauding a public utility, and forgery will be filed on Toulou. The Secret Service continues to investigate Toulou for counterfeiting U. S. currency.
