UPDATE

A workshop on limiting damage from grasshoppers and crickets, set for Tuesday, has been cancelled.

"Due to the extreme fires in our area, we are cancelling the Grasshopper and Crickets Meeting," said Marilyn “Sis” Signor of the WSU Colville Reservation Extension.

Original article:

Are grasshoppers and crickets invading your property? Want to find out how to control them and plan for next year if the outbreak continues to grow?

Then you’re invited to a public meeting and workshop hosted by the WSU Colville Reservation Extension Office, on Tuesday, August 18, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Nespelem Longhouse, across from the cemetery. Learn what can be done to minimize their damage to your crops/gardens and plan for next year.

Two pesticide re-certification credits have been applied for from WSDA for those needing it. This workshop is part of the USDA APHIS-funded RAIN3 Project and is conducted in collaboration with USDA APHIS.

Call 634-2304 for more information, to request a flyer with map to the location, or if you have other questions.
