Obituary

Born in Arlington, Texas, August 24, 1977 - Died Selah, Wash., June 14, 2015.

James G. Dodson of Selah, Wash., formerly of Richland, Wash., passed away at his home on June 14, 2015. James is survived by his domestic partner of 13 years, Jennean Brashear; two children, Malachi and Chenoa; his father, Jerry (Gerald) Dodson, his mother, Melissa Mrofka, his sister, Lisa Stewart, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends throughout the state of Washington, and his beloved dogs, Sasha and Fancy.

James was known for being a very hard worker, strong character, love of family, disarming sense of humor, and his wicked BBQ'in skills.  James was a Security Manager for Sears at the time of his passing. He embraced everyone, family, friends, co-workers and strangers alike, with compassion and kindness. James graduated Richland High School, Richland, and received his BA in IT studies from Phoenix University, Phoenix, Ariz.

We celebrate his life, and the joy and value he brought to this world. He will always be loved and remembered.

In lieu of flowers please donate to a dog rescue of your choosing in James' name.  There will be a Memorial Service for James at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Terrace Heights, 2600 Business Lane.  Valley Hills Funeral Home in Yakima is in care of the arrangements.  Online memories may be shared at http://www.valleyhillsfh.com.
