Jack Raymond Green, 86, formerly of Wapato, Wash., passed away in his sleep Monday, June 1, 2015, at Othello, Washington. He was born September, 19, 1928, in Spokane, Wash., to Raymond and Dorothea (Lamb) Green.

Jack grew up on the family ranch near Elmer City, Wash., farming with horses. He rode his horse to school at North Star, and Nespelem, and graduated from Mason City High in 1947. He attended 2 years of diesel mechanic training at Spokane Trade School.

Jack was a cattleman and loved horses. He worked all his life as a rancher and farmer. He also did animal reproduction work all over the western U.S. In 1950 he married Martha Kern, they made their home at Woodland, Idaho. They moved back to Elmer City,Wash., in 1954. In 1963 they were forced to move to Enumclaw due to Jacks health. They moved to Ellensburg in 1969. They had six children along the way.

In 1989 Jack married Jacque Miller and they ranched near Wapato, until they sold the ranch in 2013. He spent his remaining years either at his sons ranch in Othello, or with his daughters in Plummer, Idaho.

Jack was active as a 4-H leader and in the Washington Cattlemens association, Yakima County Cattlemens association and the Buena Grange.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and one son, David Green.

He is survived by his brothers: Dan Green, Mt. Vernon, Wash., Larry (Gaylene) Green, Elmer City, and Ray (Brenda) Green, Belvedere; sons: Randy (Diane) Green of Chattaroy, Wash., LD (Gwen) Green of Othello; daughters: Cathy (Mike) Stoltey, Plummer, Idaho, Becky (Dale) Johnston, St. Maries, Idaho, and Wendy Green, Plummer; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

His memorial service will be held at Community Presbyterian Church, corner of NE Cole St. and NE Knox St. in Wilbur, Washington, at 2 p.m., on Friday, June 12, 2015.
