Senate transportation bill irresponsible

It seems ironic that on the same day that a huge increase in gas prices is seen in the area, the Washington State Senate passes a $15 billion transportation package that includes an 11.7 cent per gallon gas tax increase. It is fiscal irresponsibility to

put more money into the hands of WSDOT for spending on boondoggles like Western Washington projects such as Hwy. 99/Bertha and the new Hwy. 520 bridge. The 12th. district will see little of this but the taxpayers will see much in their gas expenditures.

Speaking of the 12th. district, it should also be noted that the “local savior of the schools” (Senator Linda Evans-Parlette) voted “yea” for this increase.
