Coulee Medical Center ER and Walk-In Care

Thanks to a strong city council

Letter to the Editor

The Grand Coulee City Council Meeting that was held Tuesday, Dec. 16, was the first encouraging meeting that I have attended. It gave me my first glimmer of hope for issues that have concerned me for a long period of time, hopefully being properly addressed and actions taken to see the Council members challenge Mayor Chris Christopherson’s actions of running our city strictly on his own decisions, and acting on them, without Council’s knowledge or even a consideration, or respect for their positions in their role to our city government.

I was impressed with the Council’s remarks and I fully agreed with them. I am also pleased with the Council decision to keep the Civil Service Commission in advertising and testing of the police chief applicants, and not to hand that authority over to the mayor on a silver platter. What this area doesn’t need is just another good old boy club, but a real police department, run by knowledgeable people whose sole concern is doing their job for our area, to the best of their ability and having the best possible officers and chief who are willing, able, and capable to carry out their difficult jobs. And also giving back to them the protection that they should be warranted.

I saw a strong Council and I just wanted to Thank You!
