Robert Kistler Rowe passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014. He was born in Glen Alpine, North Carolina on February 8, 1922. He attended the Glen Alpine School District and served in the United States Army from October 1942 through September 1945. Robert married Betty Bigham in October 1946. Moving to Ephrata, then to Quincy in 1946, and finally making their home in Electric City in 1964. Robert worked for the USBR, retiring in 1977. He also worked for L and M Dumping and Mt. Tolman.

Robert was a life member of the VFW, Masonic Lodge of Quincy #161, Scottish Rite Freemasonry, S.J., Katif Shriners and Order of the Eastern Star.

Robert enjoyed his friends, horseback riding, hunting, crafting beautiful bits and spurs, and having dinner with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth and William Queen, grandson Robert Queen and his wife Heather, and their daughters Madison and Hannah, all of Spokane, as well as his sisters, Juanita Keller of Mooresville, NC and Betty Queen of Winston Salem, NC. Preceding him in death was his wife Betty of 54 years and granddaughter Robyne Brueggeman.

A celebration of Robert's life will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Grand Coulee, with a graveside service at Spring Canyon Cemetery to follow.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his memory to the Spokane Shriners Hospital for Children, El Katif Shriners, 1108 W. Riverside Avenue, Spokane, Washington.

His family would like thank the Veterans Home in Spokane for their kind and compassionate care of our Dad and Grandfather.
