A man with local ties was killed in a traffic accident June 11 in the Tri-Cities area.

Steve Covert, husband of Cindy Covert and son-in-law to Kern and Margi Overman, of Grand Coulee, died in the collision with another car but reportedly turned his car to save his son in the passenger seat.

His funeral took place in Pasco Friday.

Margi Overman said Cindy will be in town this weekend to attend another friend’s memorial.
