Burglar gets money at Center Lodge

Police are investigating a burglary at Center Lodge Motel where an unknown party took about $2,000 from a drop box and cash register sometime during the early morning hours of Sept. 20.

The report stated that someone used a key to gain entrance to the motel office where $756.91 cash and a $1,000 check was taken from a drop box and $351.45 taken from a cash register.  The cash register was also taken,

The loss was noticed by an employee who found the a key in the door which was unlocked when she came to work in the morning.

Owner Dale Baty let officers view video from a surveillance system which was operating at the time of the crime.

The report noted that film showed a heavy-set person entering the firm and followed the person as he moved through the office.  It was apparent the man knew the layout of the office, the report stated.,

Police stated the burglar kept his head down as if he knew the camera would be operating.

Nevertheless several frames offered information about the identify of the person, the report noted.
