    The Raider track team traveled to Deer Park on Friday to compete at the Deer Park Invitational. “Matthew TIllman had a solid performance in the 100-meter dash,” noted Head Coach Lori Adkins, “(as did) Traey Clark in the 200 and placing fifth in the 400.     The Lake Roosevelt Raiders baseball team defeated the Oroville Hornets in both games of a doubleheader March 28, 20-0 and 20-2. "Everyone played well on defense, and our pitchers did a good job throwing strikes," said Raider Head Coach Billy Nicholson. "Our hitters put the ball in play and ran the bases aggressively."     The Lake Roosevelt Raider tennis team lost in Omak to the Pioneers on March 28, then won at home March 30 against the Wilbur Wildcats. "We snuck into Omak just after, and left just before, the rains came," Head Coach Steve Archer said. Despite avoiding the rain, 5-0 losses for both the boys and girls put a damper on the outing, but the team looked at it in a positive light.     The Lady Raiders softball team won three of four games in doubleheaders at home against Oroville and Liberty Bell, with the fourth game called short because of darkness. Mikayla Thompson hit a grand slam over the fence on the Lady Raiders' field in a 16-3 win of game one of a doubleheader against the Oroville Lady Hornets March 28.     Raider tennis lost as a team in Liberty Bell on Thursday, but there were some wins at the individual level. The boys lost 4-1 in their matches, and the girls lost 3-2 against the Liberty Bell Mountain Lions. In the boys’ singles, Aidan Derr lost 6-0 in both sets against Jesse Schultz; Bradley Wilder lost 6-3, 6-2 against Alex Whites; and Cristian Ruiz lost 6-4, 6-1 against Isaac Blodgett.     The Lake Roosevelt track and field team competed at the Ray Cross Invitational in Ephrata on Saturday.     The Lake Roosevelt Raiders baseball team had to forfeit their doubleheader against Bridgeport on Saturday due to only having eight players. “We had a family issue and weren’t able to field a full team,” said Levi Seekins, athletic director for LR. The team was still able to play Oroville yesterday in Coulee Dam, results of which will be in next week’s Star.     The Lady Raiders softball team started the season off with two decisive victories against Manson in last Saturday's doubleheader in Grand Coulee, trouncing the Lady Trojans 27-0 in the first game, and 31-2 in the second. It was a blustery day in Grand Coulee, but the games went on as scheduled, and the winds blew in the Lady Raiders' favor as they came away with two lopsided victories.     The Lake Roosevelt Raiders defeated the Manson Trojans twice in Saturday's doubleheader, winning the first game 11-2, and the second 13-1. Saturday was a windy day in Coulee Dam, but no one complained about it, according to Raider Head Coach Billy Nicholson.     The Lake Roosevelt Raider tennis team showed the Pateros Billygoats a lot of love in the season opener last Tuesday, sweeping them in their matches, before going to Entiat where the boys won and the girls lost. At home against Pateros March 14, the Raiders boys won four sets, losing none. The girls won 5-0. For the boys, Malcom Carson defeated Ivan Ceniceros 6-3 in both the first and second sets.     Three student athletes who placed at the state wrestling tournament in Tacoma last month were treated to lunch at The Siam Palace with the Grand Coulee Dam Rotary Club Wednesday.     Three Raider wrestlers participated at the state's Mat Classic XXIX in Tacoma this past weekend where all three placed, including Kaleb Horn, who is the first Lake Roosevelt sophomore to win a state championship, and the 11th state champion in school history.
