Grand Coulee Police 7/9 - Police banned a man from property on Fortuyn Road where he had been looking into cars. The property owner said he had run the man off and gone to the store, and when he returned the man was back. - An Electric City man reported two dogs loose on Stevens Street and they appeared uncared for. Grand Coulee 6/30 - An Electric City man told police that his vehicle had been damaged while at Safeway sometime during the past month. He was asked to bring the vehicle to the police station so an officer could take pictures of the damage. He told the officer he couldn’t drive the vehicle to the police station because the license had expired. Local bowlers recently brought home the cash during the 2013 Washington State Women’s Bowling tournament in Anacortes. Mae Stensgar and Candy Weed-Butz took 1st in doubles. Their team Riverview Lanes II which also included Cheri Potts and Jennifer Miller-Mercado took seventh. Candy also took 26th in singles and 3rd in all events. June 2013 –Youth on the Colville Reservation had the opportunity to learn about small animals through their participation in the 4-H Small Animal Clinic, held in Keller on June 22. This was a hands-on clinic, whereby reservation youth were able to get ‘up close and personal’ with chickens, rabbits, goats and cats. 4-H Leaders and teen leaders demonstrated how to select, care for, feed and show small animal projects. Grand Coulee Police 6/24 - A Nespelem man was arrested and taken to Grant County jail after allegedly taking a bottle of vodka without paying for it from Safeway. The man was found at a residence on Yakima Street. He was banned from entering Safeway in the future. 6/25 - A vehicle was stopped because a brake light wasn’t working and the officer found that he didn’t have insurance.
