    Everyone who joins the Arbor Day Foundation in September will receive 10 free trees as part of the Foundation’s Trees for America program.     A benefit car wash to raise money to help Banks Lake Golf Course re-do the course’s sand traps is planned for Sept. 9. The car wash will be at Jess Ford in Grand Coulee and will begin at 9 a.m. and run until 4 p.m. Jess Ford will provide a lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost of the car wash is $25. Banks Lake Golf Course held its own money-raiser tournament to re-do its sand traps but the effort didn’t cover the entire cost. The Jess Ford benefit car wash is to help the golf course realize enough funds to complete the job....

    There will be a reunion of sorts for workers on the Third Powerhouse Sept. 15-17, the same weekend as the Harvest Festival celebration. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the construction of the Third Powerhouse at Grand Coulee Dam.
