Ten Years Ago A group working to bring a swimming pool back to the area has been scrambling recently to raise money for the cost of running an election. Coulee Area Recreation Effort Chair Sean Hess, who attended the Electric City and Coulee Dam council meetings last Tuesday and Wednesday, said the pledges will help defray the costs of running the November 4 general election and starting up a five-member board of commissioners for a public recreation district. Ten Years Ago Money flowed into Coulee Community Hospital at an all-time high in March as the hospital treated more patients than anticipated. “It indicates that the community shows confidence in us,” said CCH Administrator Mike Wiltermood. Grand Coulee Police 5/12 - Police went to Coulee Medical Center where a man who had been brought there by Tribal Police on a drug-related issue refused help and signed himself out of the hospital. The man lingered in the waiting area and refused to leave until the officer told him that since he had signed himself out he was trespassing. Life changed for Charli Knight after her sister was murdered by her husband in 2009.
