Ten Years Ago Money flowed into Coulee Community Hospital at an all-time high in March as the hospital treated more patients than anticipated. “It indicates that the community shows confidence in us,” said CCH Administrator Mike Wiltermood. Grand Coulee Police 5/12 - Police went to Coulee Medical Center where a man who had been brought there by Tribal Police on a drug-related issue refused help and signed himself out of the hospital. Tickets for the Colorama Carnival went on sale last week at nine locations in the area. The Paradise Amusement Carnival will be held near North Dam Park, May 9-11, and is one of the featured attractions of the Colorama Festival. Tickets sell for $25 and are good for one full session. Grand Coulee Police 4/23 - Coulee Medical Center staff reported to police that a mental health patient being seen in the emergency room had pushed past a nurse and left the hospital on foot. Life changed for Charli Knight after her sister was murdered by her husband in 2009. Charli was a freshman in high school at the time, and her dream was to become a chef, an ambition that lost its luster after Collette Pakootas’ death at the age of 23. Grand Coulee is going to make an effort to get a daycare center in its Central Business District zone. The public interest in a daycare center has attracted the attention of city officials, and the ways and means of making a zoning change was discussed last Tuesday night with Vivian Ramsey of SCJ Alliance, the city’s planning group.
