  • Facing my tech hesitation

    Danielle Vick|Updated May 2, 2012

A while ago, I wrote a column about how heartwarming it is to see children using their imagination in a world where most of their toys involve some sort of technology. When I think of the changes technology brings, I tend to focus on children because their world will undoubtedly be very different from the one that I grew up with. But lately I have been thinking about adults and my own feelings towards technology. What will the future bring for those of us who have come to... Full story

  • A Tale of Two Cities

    Updated May 2, 2012

No, not a story of two late 16th century cities facing good and bad times, but rather a more contemporary story of another Dickens metaphor… one of belief and one of incredulity. The cities – Elmer City and Coulee Dam. The time – the last quarter of the 20th century. I’m not typically prone to conspiracy theories nor elaborate exaggerations. And with that said, I’m going to unwind a story for you based upon real records, real events, and very real agreements. A story defined by a 1975 partnership contract between the town... Full story

Have you ever received a citation from the CCT Fish and Wildlife on Lake Roosevelt? Your rights were violated. As a group, we are asking the Department of Justice, U.S. Attorney Michael Ormsby, to intervene on our behalf and end this infringement of our rights. The legalities were settled long ago, appeals were denied, and the tribe continues to thumb... Full story
