Police release statement on fatal accident

Colville Tribal Police released information today about the fatal car accident that claimed the life of 15-year-old Rickey Louie-Burris April 18 on Gold Lake Road.

Police were dispatched to the accident scene eight miles north of Nespelem just before 5 p.m.

From the press release:

“Upon arrival CTP Officers located 4 people on the scene of the accident. 3 were identified as juveniles, and one adult. This group consisted of one juvenile male, two juvenile females, and one adult. One of the juvenile females was pronounced deceased on scene.

The juvenile male was identified as the driver of the vehicle. He was booked into the Okanogan County Juvenile Facility pending charges of vehicular homicide, as the initial investigation showed speed as the contributing factor. The occupants of the vehicle were not wearing their seatbelts.”
