Enrollment running below budget

Enrollment is not hitting its budgeted expectation at Lake Roosevelt Schools, which can have consequences.

District numbers can vary in the beginning of the year, but 23 students would be a lot to gain in one year.

Superintendent Rod Broadnax reported to the district board that in-building enrollment stands at 523 students, with an additional 23 enrolled in the district’s Alternative Learning Experience (ALE) and online programs — roughly 546 to 547 students in total. The district budgeted for 570.

Of the 23 ALE and online students, Broadnax said 11 are online students and 12 are ALE students. He added that another five or six ALE students have not yet been formally enrolled because the district’s Skyward student information system rolled them over as graduated when they are in fact seniors this year; once corrected, he said, ALE enrollment would rise to about 18.

Enrollment figure Reported number

In-building enrollment 523

ALE and online enrollment 23 (11 online, 12 ALE)

Combined district enrollment approx. 546-547

Budgeted enrollment 570

ALE students pending enrollment correction 5-6 (would bring ALE to approx. 18)
