Letters from our readers
Thank you, Carl Russell, for your right-on letter in the January 28 edition of The Star. I agree with you and support you 100%. However, sadly the rules of engagement for criticizing the Trump-hating Dems is, “Stick your neck out and get your head chopped off.”
In the February 4 edition of The Star, there were three contemptuous shots sent your way. Jamie Holman’s letter was a simpering and condescending word salad. I struggled to get through, but apparently you need to be admonished… a lot. Don Andrews had to vomit and therefore could not continue going on and on. And Bob Valen can always treat us to caustic sarcasm equally not understandable.
And I am sorry for my sarcasm as well, but it is impossible to deal with such firm resistance to and hatred of our president. At every move he makes to help our nation, he is met with such strong resistance and repetition of the same old clichés and cries of racism, etc. I don’t see any mention of the fact that Nick Shirley, the young independent reporter who exposed the Minnesota fraudulent activities, particularly within the Somali community, is now spending his life as a target of a threatening hit list for his life. Never mind that he exposed $6 billion worth of stolen taxpayer money in a network of mismanagement with implications all the way up to Walz, the governor that the Dems had proudly offered us as a vice-presidential candidate. Or the great replacement that is happening in Europe, and attempts being made here in our own fragile nation. I say fragile because we now have an avowed American-hating communist voted in as mayor of New York. I won’t go further with mentioning that the Minneapolis ICE chaos is coincidentally happening in time to deflect attention away from the fraud.
At least these letters took up enough columnar space that the editor didn’t impose one of those hideous Cagle editorials on us. I do appreciate people voicing their opinions…. I just hope for more balance.
Anna Kirk
