Lady Raiders compete at Othello tournament

Seven Lady Raiders traveled to Othello last Saturday to compete in a tough two-day, 46-team wrestling tournament. All seven wrestlers competed extremely well throughout the weekend, their coaches said, facing strong competition and challenging matches.

Cora Nicholson scored three team points.

Sienna Atchison placed seventh and scored 15 team points.

Tru Jack scored eight team points.

Ayamae Batten-Bob scored six team points.

Abygail Vargas placed eighth and scored 16 team points.

Selma Lewandowski placed sevent and scored 17 team points.

AJ Cannon placed sixth and scored 17 team points.

As a team, the Lady Raiders tied for 22nd place with Okanogan with team score of 82 points.

This was a very tough tournament, and the team wrestled hard and showed great effort. The experience gave the coaches and athletes valuable insight into areas where small adjustments can be made as they prepare for the postseason tournament on Feb. 6 in Okanogan.
