Grant County commissioners said last week that they are seeking interested citizens to serve on a homeless task force, and they want someone who knows what they’re talking about.
It’s a “Lived Homeless Experience” vacancy on the Grant County Homeless Housing Task Force (HHTF), and if you’ve never been homeless you don’t qualify.
Once appointment, the selected candidate will serve a two-year term as a voting member of the HHTF.
Applicants must reside in Grant County, be of at least 18 years of age, either currently identify as homeless or have been previously homeless, have an active email address and are able to attend monthly meetings either in person or via Zoom.
The selected candidate is required to attend the monthly meetings. The ideal candidate will have general knowledge of the services provided to homeless individuals of Grant County.
Low-income individuals may qualify for compensation for attending monthly meetings.
The task force typically meets on the last Thursday of each month at 2 p.m. in the Grant County Commissioners Hearing Room #101, 35 C St. NW, Ephrata WA 98823.
If you are interested in serving on this board, complete an Application for Appointment to a Grant County Volunteer Board, which is located on a webpage at: https://www.grantcountywa.gov/912/Current-Vacancies-on-Boards-Commissions-. If you would like a printed version to fill out, please contact the Clerk of the HHTF with the information above.
Applications must be received or postmarked by May 21, 2025.
