Raiders top league to end regular basketball season

Raider sports updates

The Raiders ended the regular season at the top of the Central Washington 2B League with a 5-1 record, even after a loss to Liberty Bell Friday.

After beating 1A Omak by 43 points a week ago, Lake Roosevelt let Liberty Bell squeak by with a three-point league win in Winthrop Friday, ending a four-win streak with the 57-54 loss.

They won a non-league game against 1A Chelan last night, though, 53-47 to limber up for post-season, giving them a 17-3 overall record.

The 2025 CW2B Boys Basketball Tournament takes place Thursday, February 6 - Saturday, February 11.

Seeded number one, LR first plays Friday at Omak in game four against either Tonasket or Manson. They'll play again Feb. 11. If they win Thursday, they'll play in Omak at 7:30 p.m. Otherwise, they'll play in Okanogan, time TBD. Either way, they'll play at the District 5 tourney in Moses Lake, which starts Feb. 13.

Raiders host Bulldogs in dual

Four Raider wrestlers braved the Bulldogs at home as they hosted Okanogan's wrestlers Thursday.

That's half the squad out, so the event didn't last long, with "forfeit" the most common outcome of the night - two for Okanogan, seven for the Raiders, who consequently lost 54-15.

But Raider Collin Christman broke down Chance Patrick 4-3 at 106, and Roger Cate pinned Bulldog Collin Carpenter at 113.

Kaden Christman fell to Tanner Grooms at 120, as did Blake Chuckelnaskit at 215 to Austin Morgan.

The Raider wrestlers head to Okanogan's tournament this Saturday to compete with 18 other teams. It starts at 5 p.m.

Lady Raider third in league

The Lady Raiders beat Liberty Bell 45-39 Friday at Winthrop in their last regular-season league game.

Last night, they lost a non-league game to 1A Chelan 63-41, and now head into post-season third in the CWB 2B League with a 4-2 record, 9-11 overall.

They're scheduled for another shot at the Lady Mountain Lions Thursday at 6 p.m. at Lake Roosevelt in the opening game of the 2025 CW2B Girls Basketball Tournament.

The winners play Okanogan at 2 p.m. Feb. 8 in Omak; the losers are out.
