GCHS Alumni Assoc. awards scholarships to the Class of 2024

The Grand Coulee High School Alumni Association awarded scholarships in the amount of $500 to each of the following members of the Lake Roosevelt Jr-Sr High School Class of 2024: Raeley Portch, Sawyer Steffens, and Chase Marchand. Each of these students’ applications presented a high level of engagement in high school life, including success in academics, athletics, and community service, as well as focused goals going forward after high school.

Two students from out of the area who are descendants of graduates of Grand Coulee High School prior to its consolidation with Coulee Dam High School in 1972 also received scholarships: Karsen Brashears of Wilbur-Creston High School (granddaughter of Dale and Fawn Brashears) and Katie Hinthorn of McMinnville High School in Oregon (granddaughter of Robert “Ozzie” Rose). These students, too, demonstrated via their scholarship applications highly successful high school experiences and clear goals that include higher education and meaningful career choices.

The GCHS Alumni Association salutes these fine students and wishes them fulfilling post high school years and anticipates each one will contribute greatly to his/her family and community.
