3/18 - Two vehicles with expired tabs on Holly Street were tagged with warnings that they needed to be moved as they had been parked on the city street for a week or longer and were in violation of city codes. The cars were gone when police checked back two days later.
3/19 - At about 3:20 a.m., a man and woman on Birch Street had an argument about taking a dog to the vet. The man said the woman could take the dog but wanted her banned from his residence. Police told her this and she understood.
- A driver known to have a suspended license was cited for driving with it when stopped near Birch Street and Roosevelt Way.
- A driver moved a vehicle when signs were pointed out showing it was parked in a tow-away zone.
3/20 - Police monitored the area of Williams Avenue in Electric City where cars were reportedly speeding. Police didn’t see any speeding vehicles while there.
3/21 - Police helped two drivers exchange information after an accident at the high school. No one was hurt in the collision. Police told the drivers to contact their insurance companies.
- Police checked on a man who was lying near a Sunset Drive residence. He was OK and in the care of his father.
- A woman was banned from her sister’s home on Douglas Avenue for one week because she was intoxicated and screaming. Police gave her a ride to a place she could stay in Grand Coulee.
3/22 - An officer heard the dispatch center talking about a man acting aggressively at the Safeway in Grand Coulee, banging his fist on the counter. Knowing the Grand Coulee Police Department to be “suffering a heavy staffing shortage,” the Coulee Dam officer offered to assist the on-call Grand Coulee officer. The man had left the store heading toward Coulee Dam and was stopped by Coulee Dam Police at the overlook just above Grand Coulee Dam. The man explained he had purchased some meat labeled as 50% off the original price but checked the receipt and had been charged full price. He was then refunded the 50% but had wanted to be refunded the full price of the item. He was told by police that he was banned from the store for one year. The man said he was going to file a lawsuit against the store.
- Tribal police notified Coulee Dam and Grand Coulee police of a missing person. Police looked for him, then were then told by tribal police that the missing person had been found.
- A man was seen on a security camera knocking on a door of a Crest Drive home then stealing a package that was on the porch. The man was recognized, and police found him at the casino. Police confronted him about the theft. He was argumentative at first, then apologized. He was allowed to return the items, about $40 worth of beauty products. The rightful owner was pleased and hoped it was a good lesson for the man and didn’t wish to press charges at the time.
3/24 - Police responded to River Drive where an unconscious woman was in a trailer parked in a driveway, receiving CPR from her boyfriend. Police administered two doses of Narcan to attempt to revive the woman, who was then rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. She was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Police assisted in transferring her body to the coroner to perform an autopsy. The coroner said he would provide police with an official cause of death at a later time.
