Coulee Police

1/29 - Police saw a Nissan Maxima in the ditch near the rodeo grounds on Alcan Road. The car was unoccupied but police were able to contact the registered owner who lives nearby on Cardinal Road. The owner explained that he had arranged for a friend to help tow the car out of the ditch, but who, because of the fog, wouldn’t be able to help until the next morning. Police were fine with this arrangement because the car didn’t present a traffic hazard to other vehicles. 

1/30 - Police attempted to arrange for a box of puppies to go to an animal rescue organization, but then were unable to recontact the reporting party who was concerned about them, nor the person who actually had the puppies. The organization was concerned that the woman with the puppies was giving them cow milk, which is no substitute for their mother’s milk.

- Police advised a man to talk to an attorney regarding getting a parenting plan in place for his child. The man was also concerned about where his child was staying and who was watching the child. Police went to the child’s Grand Coulee Avenue home and learned from a teenager that the child was with a babysitter, but the teenager didn’t know who the babysitter was.

- At about 11 p.m. police noted that the door was open to the city’s shop on Dill Avenue. There was no one inside and nothing appeared taken. Police contacted a city employee and asked him to double check and make sure nothing was taken.

2/1 - Police spoke to a hospital employee who said a patient was there after being tased at a Housing Unit Development site in Nespelem. Police relayed the information to a tribal officer.

2/2 - Police saw a man wanted on Grant and Lincoln county warrants parked on Federal Avenue. Grant County didn’t confirm their warrant, but Lincoln County did. The man had driven away and police pulled him over near Alcan Road. He was arrested on the warrant out of Lincoln County and taken to the jail there.

2/3 - Following a complaint, police found that noise coming from a Federal Avenue apartment wasn’t enough to warrant issuing a citation. The reporting party seemed upset at this news.

Coulee Dam Police

1/29 - Someone reported an attempted burglary at a Cedar Street residence and requested extra patrols. Police said they would perform the extra patrols. 

1/30- 2/2 - Police reports were filed regarding separate situations, including a harassment/stalking/threat situation on Pine Street in Coulee Dam, a theft on Coulee Boulevard in Electric City, and found property at the golf course. The reports do not detail the situations.

2/2 - Police looked into a situation regarding a possibly stolen trailer from Coulee Boulevard and found that someone had borrowed it but hadn’t returned it in what the owner considered a reasonable timeframe. The owner had gone to Nespelem and retrieved the trailer herself.

- At the urging of a concerned employer, police entered the Diamond Street home of a man who had not shown up for work in two days, highly unusual for him. They found him barely conscious on the bathroom floor and called for an ambulance, which took the man to Coulee Medical Center.

- A vehicle collision took place on Coulee Boulevard on private property, the drivers exchanged information and damage appeared minimal.

2/3 - A report was filed concerning trespassing on 6th Street in Coulee dam with tribal police being the complainant in the case. No further details were included in the report.
