Grand Coulee Dam's Nathaniel "Nat" Washington Power Plant is lit cheerfully lately with yellow, red, green, and blue lights that reflect nicely off the waters of the Columbia River, churning after coming through those Third Powerhouse generators. The completion of that plant in 1980 made Grand Coulee Dam the largest electric power producing plant in the nation, with a capacity to produce 17 billion kilowatt hours of electricity.
