Police

11/23 - Police told a Vancouver, Washington woman they would keep an eye out for her son who frequents the area. She was calling various places in the state looking for him. 

11/24 - Police pulled a vehicle over on Wenatchee Avenue because it was registered to someone with a suspended license. Police found he was also wanted on a warrant out of Grant County but the jail would not accept him on the warrant. He was cited for the suspended license and agreed not to drive any further before police left the area.

- Police were able to get an aggressive pit bull inside the fence of an F Street residence but were unable to contact the owner. A neighbor said the dog had been aggressive toward his wife and the officer noted the dog lowered its head with hair raised in an aggressive stance when he approached it.

- Police stood by to offer assistance to an EMS crew at the Chevron gas station where an employee had had a seizure and collapsed and was agitated at first but then calm. The employee was taken to the hospital.

11/25 - A juvenile was taken to a holding facility in Wenatchee for assault after allegedly pushing down a Grand Coulee woman during an argument about cleaning the house. 

Police also collected a 9mm handgun that the woman didn’t want in the home.

- Police attempted to pull over a vehicle with expired registration seen on Federal Avenue. After running a stop sign, the vehicle eventually stopped on Grand Coulee Avenue, the driver got out and fled, while the passenger remained. The passenger was a felon and told police he had “clear,” slang for methamphetamine, inside his glove. Police collected that from him. He told police he only knew the driver’s first name and had only met him a couple of times. Police observed a handgun inside a backpack on the passenger floorboard and obtained a search warrant. The passenger was free to go. The vehicle was towed to a safe location and searched. The handgun in the back pack was not stolen, but the passenger is being charged with illegally being in possession of it. There was also marijuana and various drug paraphernalia found inside the vehicle.

11/26 - A woman wants her ex banned from her residence after he showed up banging on her door and yelling, upset about their child. Police advised her to get a protection order as well. 

- Police were unable to find an injured deer reportedly near Burdin Boulevard, although there were several healthy deer in the area.

11/27 - Police stood by while a Child Protective Services worker conducted an interview on Wenatchee Avenue.

11/28 - Police collected details about a case on Spokane Way in which a contractor had completed a roof on one building and requested a deposit toward another job. The owner paid $4,000 and bought supplies. The contractor never made contact again, and didn’t pay someone who worked for him either. Police looked for records of the contractor’s name and didn’t find any. The owner said he would like to press charges for the theft.

- A person was reported yelling and cursing near the Pacific Pride gas station on Midway Avenue. Based on the description of the person, police believed it was someone they had seen in the same area earlier performing some kind of “interpretive dance,” as described by an officer. Police searched the area but were unable to locate the man.

11/26 - Police went to Washington Place in Electric City where yelling was heard at about 3:45 a.m. Police waited for a time but didn’t hear anything.

11/27 - A man was locked out of his home on Roosevelt Avenue in Electric City and thought it had been done on purpose by others who live there. The man knocked on the front and back doors with an officer present and eventually was let in by a woman. Police told her she couldn’t lock the man out of his home and she said she didn’t realize the door was locked.

11/28 - Police told people at a Kelso Avenue residence that they can’t burn yard waste within city limits and to put out their fire, which they did.

11/29 - Police collected details about an assault at Lake Roosevelt Schools in which one student allegedly punched another over an alleged sexual assault committed against a third student. The mother of the student who was punched said they didn’t want to press charges.

- Police told an ambulance crew that they couldn’t force a man to go to the hospital after he had first been found unresponsive outside the smoke shop on River Drive. He hadn’t committed a crime and was refusing treatment and transport, and so police left. Ambulance personnel stayed on scene until the man’s ride arrived.

11/30 - An officer assisted the Grant County Sheriff’s Office by responding to a domestic assault call on Nucoulee Boulevard in Grand Coulee involving a grandmother and grandson. Police spoke to the grandson briefly before GCSO arrived, then handed the case over to them. 

- Police attempted to contact a Camas Street man at the behest of hospital staff who said the man was too stubborn to come into the hospital and “sounded” like he should be seen. Police checked on him twice and the second time his vehicle was gone. No crime was committed.

12/1 - Police performed traffic control on River Drive near the bridge where a semi truck was stuck on the hill. Police cleared once the truck was moving again.

- Police told a Coulee Dam man who had been denied car insurance why his license was suspended, including unpaid infractions in Oregon, and a Dodge vehicle that was towed to Washington and not paid for. The man said he never owned a Dodge and suspected an estranged brother forged his name. Police told him to contact authorities in Oregon to handle the matter further.

12/2 - A Grand Avenue woman was taken to jail for assault after an altercation with her daughter and son-in-law with whom she lives. She allegedly bit the daughter and poked the son-in-law in the throat during an argument after she had been drinking. The son-in-law poured water on the woman when he was poked. The victims didn’t wish to press charges or have a protection order put in place.

12/3 - Police helped an EMS crew lift an overdose patient on Fir Street into an ambulance. The person was revived at the hospital. Police also collected two rolled up one-dollar bills containing remnants of a blue powder suspected to be fentanyl.
