The Coulee Pioneer Museum in Electric City recently went through a complete makeover and will re-open on Colorama weekend - Saturday and Sunday, May 13-14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Helmed by John M. Kemble, whose book "Images of America: Banks Lake" was released earlier this year, the remodel of Birdie Hensley's Coulee Pioneer Museum includes many new artifacts and displays, Kemble says, including many new interpretive signs and stories written by Kemble himself.

"You can only discuss what you know." Kemble stated about the remodel. "Since I will be volunteering at the museum for the summer, many of the displays and stories reflect the books and articles I have written in the past, and also tie into a June presentation at the Coulee City public library."

The Coulee Pioneer Museum, located at 3 East Coulee Boulevard in Electric City, will be open Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the duration of the season, Kemble said.
