10/30 - A man and woman were sleeping on the slide at Mason City Memorial Park on Mead Avenue, preventing kids from using the slide for its intended purpose. Police asked them to move from the slide. They didn’t offer any explanation for sleeping on the slide, but said they’d go sleep on a nearby bench while waiting for a bus. Police didn’t collect any further information from them because they weren’t committing a crime.
11/5 - Police responded to a report that a water tank had sunk about 15 inches into the ground at Cole Park. Police determined the tank appeared to have been that way for quite some time, since grass was growing around it.
11/6 - A branch fell off a tree on Columbia Avenue, doing some damage to the siding of a residence. The homeowner wasn’t home. The city crew said they would clean up the branch. Police put up caution tape in the meantime.
11/9 - Police stopped a vehicle registered to a man with a suspended license. Near Federal Avenue and SR-155, the man was taking a woman to the hospital. The woman said she didn’t want an ambulance. The officer allowed the woman to drive and didn’t cite the man for driving with a suspended license so as not to delay the trip to the hospital any further.
11/10 - Police went to Lake Roosevelt Schools, where two brothers had gotten into a fight during an assembly. One of the brothers was reportedly trying to stop the other from hanging out with the wrong crowd, which led to the fight. Their mother took them home. One of the brothers could face an assault charge.
11/12 - A man reported that while he was cleaning bathrooms at the school, some students came in. He asked them to leave, but one student became aggressive and said obscene things and pushed the man. That student could face an assault charge.
11/14 - A Cedar Street woman woke up to find over $1,000 worth of items missing, including a laptop, her purse, coin sets, and more. Police thought it was unlikely the items were taken while she was asleep as it would be impossible to walk across the cluttered floor without making noise.
11/19 - Police went to Sixth Street on a report of people looking in cars in the parking lot near the casino. Police didn’t see anyone there but continued to patrol the area to deter anyone from prowling the parking lot.
11/20 - Police went to the Harvest Foods parking lot where an intoxicated passenger opened his door into another car, leading to a confrontation. Police said it was a civil matter but didn’t want the confrontation to escalate.

11/15 - A woman reported being chased. Police went to the city park on SR-174 where a woman and man were intoxicated. Police eventually determined that people had tried to stop the woman from driving, she ran off barefoot, kicked a brick or rock and injured her big toe. Her injuries were treated. Police made sure both the man and woman made it home safely.
11/16 - A Grand Coulee Avenue woman reported that a neighbor’s dogs had attacked her ducks and geese, killing one duck and injuring two geese.
11/17 - A woman was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol after being pulled over on Midway Avenue after police saw her swerve over the fog line and center line of the driving lane.
- Police were unable to find a dog running around near the hospital with a rope attached.
- Police killed an injured deer along SR-174.
11/18 - A man admitted to being high on meth while at Safeway, and hearing and seeing things that weren’t actually there. A woman said she’d help get him home to his family. Police gave him a Washington Recovery card and advised him to call the number on the card for help.
- Police kept an eye on a man who was fishing near a restricted area by the Grand Coulee Dam to make sure he didn’t go into the restricted area.
- Police pulled a driver over at a pull-off spot above the Grand Coulee Dam after observing the vehicle swerving in its lane. A woman was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol content of about 0.18. The legal limit being 0.08. Police then gave her a ride to a friend’s house.
11/19 - A Geo Metro became undrivable while driving down Martin Road. Police saw that one of the front tires was very damaged and determined the vehicle was undrivable. A tow company came to take the vehicle to the owner’s home in Coulee Dam.
11/21 - A Granger Avenue man was worried a toolbox he bought from another man for $15 could be stolen because its retail value is $60. Police told him they weren’t aware of any stolen toolboxes being reported in the area.
