10/17 - Police explained to a man at a Main Street tavern the process of getting a restraining order after another man had stared at him strangely.

10/19 - Police responded to the gas station at Four Corners, where a man had been in the bathroom for over an hour, unresponsive to the knocks of other customers and an employee. The man didn’t respond to a police knocking either. An employee unloxacked the door and police opened the door to see a man washing his hands. He was told to leave the store and did so without incident.

- Police collected a rifle and three gun cases left behind in a room at Sunbanks Lake Resort. When she called the resort, the owner of the gun was told to retrieve it from police.

- A woman reported a suspicious red truck was following her and her child, and that a man she didn’t know waving at her on Pleasant Valley Road. She said that the man would park the truck, she’d walk out of view, and then the truck would start up again and drive closer to her location. Police collected a description of the man and the truck but were unable to find it when searching the area.

- Police spoke to a man at Safeway who was reported as acting strangely and not speaking. The man did speak to police, saying he wanted a drink. Police told him he wasn’t welcome at the store, and then found that he was wanted on a felony warrant out of Okanogan County for assault with a deadly weapon, robbery, theft, and another assault charge. Officials in Okanogan were unable to speak to the officer, who was told to call back in 30 minutes. The officer found this to be an unreasonable amount of time to detain the man outside of Safeway, so the man was free to leave.

10/21 - While giving a man a ride to the tavern in Electric City, the driver and the man got into a heated discussion about the military. The man jumped out of the moving vehicle on Coulee Boulevard and hit his head, then continuing to walk. Police found a hat and a bit of blood at this location, but didn’t find the man. The hospital hadn’t admitted anyone matching the description either.

10/22 - Police responded to a Miller Avenue motel room where two men were heard speaking loudly in a foreign language. An officer knocked, and then used the strobe function on his flashlight to gain the men’s attention, but no one came to the door. Since the noise had stopped, police didn’t press the matter further.

- A Goodfellow Avenue man was reported missing, having gone hunting earlier in the day and not returning, and not having his cell phone with him. Police searched the Barker Canyon and Strahl Canyon areas of Douglas County with no luck. The man was registered as officially missing. He was located after midnight by Douglas County deputies, alive and well, and had been in a minor accident.

- Two vehicles were reported stolen from an Electric Boulevard residence that a woman and her boyfriend had moved out of. The vehicles were said not to run, and a cleaning crew had reported seeing a tow truck take them. Only one of the vehicles is registered to the woman, while the bill of sale for the other vehicle is said to be in the glovebox. Someone has to sign a form to report the one vehicle as stolen. Police contacted two tow companies who said they had not towed the vehicles.

10/23 - A man driving a semi with a trailer around Hometown Pizza reported striking a storage container, which didn’t appear damaged but was moved a short distance. Police said they would attempt to contact the business owner during business hours.

10/24 - Police arrested a man camping at Spring Canyon for domestic violence after his wife reported him slapping her multiple times, upset that people were texting her. She had blood on her lip and a swollen face that confirmed what she’d told police. The man was transferred to a Lincoln County deputy, who arrived after Grand Coulee Police had responded to the situation at Lincoln County’s request.

10/25 - Police gave an intoxicated man at Safeway a ride to a motel. The man had fallen while in the store. He had been drinking in his camper, he said, and there was no evidence he had driven the vehicle. He blew an alcohol breath sample showing an alcohol content of .286, well over the .08 limit for driving.

10/18 - Police entered the credit union slowly and found nothing amiss. A burglary alarm had been pushed by accident, a teller explained.

- Police spoke to the driver of a minivan that was reported as driving erratically before parking at the school. The driver said another vehicle had “done stuff to her,” and so she flashed her lights and used her turn signals towards the other vehicle. An officer told her that her behavior was road rage and she shouldn’t do it again, and should have reported the other vehicle instead.

10/19 - A man reported as suspicious at Mead Park was obviously high on meth to an officer, according to his training and experience. The man wasn’t doing anything illegal, however, and so police left the area.

10/20 - A man on Mead Way was pretending to throw things, but wasn’t actually throwing anything. Police didn’t contact the man because he had done nothing wrong.

- An officer assisted tribal police with an incident involving shots fired, first thought to be on Owhi Lake Road, then found to be at 10th and D Street in Nespelem, where tribal police searched for suspects. The officer stood by for several hours with lights for containment during the search until relieved by a tribal officer.
