The Raider boys were no match for the Lady Raiders on the softball field in Grand Coulee in a fun, fastpitch softball game the girls won 17-11 last week.

"I'm not sure who had more fun - the crowd, the players, or the umps," Lady Raiders Head Coach Jaci Gross said. "Everyone involved in the game had a blast and that was the goal. I really appreciated the boys coming out, playing fast pitch rules, and just going with it. Anytime we can get kids and the community together and make great memories, it's a win. I appreciated the big turnout."

The Raider boys, mostly players from the baseball team, seemed to have a hard time adjusting to the fastpitch pitching style, often rolling the ball in the dirt to the cheers and jeers from other students who all seemed to be having a fun time.

Presley Steffens hit two home runs in the June 8 game, and Aaliyah Marchand hit one for the girls. Brit Egbert and Bryce Wippel each hit a homer for the boys.

Brad White and Bob Morin volunteered as umpires for the game.
