5/4 - Police collected and discarded two syringes found in the roadway near Sunny Drive and Kelso Avenue.

5/5 - A woman on F Street showed police damage to her car and her mother’s car that appeared to be caused by a BB or pellet gun. She thought it may be a neighbor she has feuded with who walks around with a gun. She isn’t sure whether it’s a real gun or a BB or pellet gun. Police told her to call police if she sees something suspicious like someone walking around with a gun.

- A woman reported being a victim of fraud. A man she met through the social media app TikTok had sent her threatening text messages and told her to cash a check and mail him the money. The woman received a check for over $8,000 and cashed it, but the check was fraudulent. She said she was now responsible for paying the money back to the bank. Police collected a second check and the man’s phone number, which is from Utah, then looked at the addresses for the checks and envelopes that connect to various banks and states.

5/6 - A man and woman were caught having sex in their truck parked near the rodeo grounds. The officer didn’t cite them but told them to make better decisions for where they decide to have sexual intercourse. The two understood and laughed.

5/8 - A man and woman allegedly hit each other at a bar in Electric City. He had previously dated her friend, and they were upset that he was at the same bar with his friends. No charges were filed.

5/9 - Police responded to King Street, where a woman was upset that she and two teenage children were given a ride from Spokane to Grand Coulee and not to Omak, which was her destination. The woman who gave the ride said she never agreed to take them to Omak. The officer said it was the driver’s right to stop wherever she wanted to. Police gave the woman and children a courtesy ride to the rest area in Coulee Dam from where a 7 a.m. bus would take people to Omak free of charge.

5/12 - Police confirmed that a lot on Roosevelt Drive had tall grass and a dilapidated building on it following a complaint.

- Police returned a husky type dog to its owner when the dog was running at large in the Batchelor Square area.

- Police checked on a residence on Roosevelt Drive where no one lived and the front door was open. Police found nothing awry at the residence.

5/13 - A woman told police that she was concerned that drugs were hidden in her truck after a man changed a light bulb in it. Police told her they wouldn’t search it, but to let them know if she found anything. The next day, the woman said there were drugs inside the lining of her shoes. Police didn’t find any drugs in her shoes.

5/10 - Police responded to a report of an assault of a high school student on Spruce Street. Other students are suspects in the assault. The alleged victim explained the incident to the school nurse who relayed it to police. It involved the student being confronted by other juveniles, tripping over a barbecue, and getting stomped by them, resulting in head injuries. The student went to the hospital.

5/13 - Police responded to a report of people possibly being shot at a SR-155 location. Tribal police also responded. Police checked various buildings at the location, and then spoke to the man who reported the shots. Police determined no one had been shot and that the man may have been having a mental health crisis.

- A man on 6th Street reported his home had been broken into and ransacked. A television, bag of tools, and cowboy boots were stolen and a note with poor handwriting was left that said “pay backs a bitch,” among other things. The man had no idea who would leave a note like that.

5/14 - Police were told by the 911 dispatch center about a call in which a woman could be heard asking for help. The cell phone used to call 911 was traced to a Birch Street area where police didn’t find anyone in distress. The call could have been made in a moving car, the police report suggests.
