4/24 - A man on Cedar Street told police that someone had gone through his pickup truck and that the glove compartment was open. The man didn’t report anything of his taken, but explained that his neighbor had had a chainsaw taken out of his pickup. The neighbor told police the chainsaw was valued at about $400-$500 and that a jacket and coat were also missing but found laying on the ground nearby. His shed had also been opened and gone through, but nothing taken. Police said they would attempt to get a search warrant to view security footage from a camera that points down Cedar Street.

4/25 - Police spoke to a woman walking down Aspen Street suspected of walking onto private property and looking into cars. Police warned her not to do that or she could be arrested. Police noted she has mental health issues.

4/27 - A man reported a checkbook taken from his truck while parked on First Street on an earlier date. He discovered checks had been cashed at a Banner Bank for $200 and $300, written out to a suspect. Police are finding out which branch they were cashed at to continue an investigation. The man had the rest of the checks canceled.

- A woman on Central Drive told police she thought someone was trying to steal her car by taking the fuse for the starter from it. Police explained the fuse was still there but that the battery was dead.

4/28 - Police spoke to a woman who was sleeping in her car near the post office, blocking a lane of travel. She said that she had run out of gas and coasted to that spot. Police helped push her car into a legal parking spot. She said a friend was bringing gas for her car.

- Police pulled over a driver on River Drive known to be wanted on a felony arrest warrant for failing to register as a sex offender. The man was allowed to put his dogs into his Elmer City home before being taken to jail.

- A man was suspected of trying to steal gas from a pickup truck, but police found he was the owner of the truck and had pulled over to take a nap.

4/23 - Two Wetzel Street men had a problem regarding cats owned by one reportedly using the other’s property as a litter box. The aggrieved property owner told police he’d set out a live trap, caught some number of cats not specified in the report, then released them at Crown Point. The cats’ owner told police his cats had roamed the neighborhood for 13 years with no problem. He agreed to not approach the other man or go on his property. Police told him it’s not illegal to trap cats, even using bait, if they’re on private property. They also told him he had to keep his
