There has been one more COVID-19 death in Grant County in the past week, and six new cases in local towns as incident rates decline.

According to data from Coulee Medical Center, from March 1-7, 51 covid tests were performed, with only three, 6%, testing positive for the coronavirus. 

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Grant and Lincoln counties, as well as Ferry and Spokane counties, are shown as being at medium risk for overwhelming hospitals with covid cases, but Okanogan and Douglas are still listed as high risk.

Grant County Health District announced one death in their weekly update on March 3 that had occured in February. 

The death was a Moses Lake woman in her 80s who was partially vaccinated with an underlying health condition. She died in February.

The Grand Coulee and Electric City area of Grant County shows a total of 287 cases, up by two since March 2.

GCHD also shows a declining two-week incidence rate of 168 cases per 100,000 people on March 7. That rate was 1,458 about a month earlier on Feb. 11.

Okanogan County Public Health shows an incidence rate of 466 as of their last update on Mar. 2, down from 909 the week prior, with 201 cases reported in the two weeks prior to the report.

Coulee Dam shows 203 cases total since the pandemic began, up by three since Feb. 22; Elmer City remains at 74; and Nespelem is up by one new case for a total of 246.
