Lake Roosevelt Athletic Director Tim Rasmussen was named the North Central Washington 2B League Athletic Director of the year by his fellow ADs in the league.

Rasmussen was presented with the award twice last week, at a boys' basketball game and a girls' basketball game.

"I'm just honored that the other ADs in the league have taken notice of what we're doing at LR," Rasmussen said. "We have a great group of coaches and kids working really hard. I'm really fortunate to work with our coaches and kids and I'm excited for everything going on with Raider athletics."

"My kids and I are extremely proud of Tim for all of his effort, time, and heart that he puts into the programs and students at LR," his wife Nicole Rasmussen said. "It is inspiring to watch how every team, every coach, and every player matters to him off the field and court even more than they do on. From the start of his career, his focus has always been to 'inspire young men and women to become a success by becoming men and women of value.' He strives for excellence in our school to provide every opportunity that he can for all student athletes to be successful in athletics and in life. This award is very well deserved!"

Superintendent Paul Turner said he was "pretty excited" about Rasmussen winning the award. "The work he's been doing for our athletes at the state and regional levels - this is a testament to that and the respect he gets from his fellow ADs."

Jason Clark, who helps coach football and is the parent of athlete Chase Clark, currently on the boys' varsity basketball team, said that he's been working with Rasmussen since he took the AD position in 2018.

"What I've noticed about Tim is he puts a lot of his work, time, and energy into LR. As far as athletics go, he goes above and beyond for our student athletes. He's brought a lot to the table as far as knowledge goes. He's an all-around good guy. He stays highly involved with our student athletes and is always on the lookout for what he can do to help somebody."

Clark noted that Rasmussen makes an effort to attend as many Lake Roosevelt games as he can, including junior high games.
