This past week the Raiders wrestled in the North Central Region qualifier event in Omak on June 15 before the NCR main event in Tonasket June 17 where six Raiders placed to finish the season.

Arianna Waters, right, tops the podium at first place for the Raiders in the 190-weight division at Tonasket, with Kaylee Landeros, middle, taking honors for second place.

In Tonasket, LR placed fourth as a team with 78.5 points, with Royal High School winning the event with 136.5 points.

Placers for LR include Colton Jackson, who placed first wrestling in the 120-pound division; Sergio Galacia, first at 195; Arianna Waters, first at 190; Kaylee Landeros, second at 190; Rock Harris, third at 138; and Julian Lopez, third at 126.

"Overall, it was a good season, considering the circumstances," Head Coach Billy Monroe said. "We had a really good group of athletes who worked hard and kept good attitudes. We covid tested before every match and did not have a single positive case on the wrestling team for the entire season, and I believe there was not a single case in our wrestling league as well. I hope for a normal season next year because I believe we will have a strong team that has the potential to finish top three in state next year."
