Ladies suffer first loss of season

The Lady Raiders lost their first game of the season Monday in Coulee Dam where they hosted Royal High School's Knights.

The game was a close one with LR leading 25-23 at the half. 

Tied at 31-31 with five minutes left in the third quarter, Royal went on a run, leading 39-31 at the end of the third, and 42-31 at the start of the fourth before LR finally scored again. 

The Lady Raiders kept fighting, getting within five points of Royal with the score being 45-40 with about three minutes left in the game, but a three-point shot from Royal dealt one of the final blows, making the score 48-40.

When the final minutes ran out the final score was 50-44. 

The Lady Raiders are scheduled to host Manson June 18 at 6 p.m., and to play Ephrata on the road on June 19 at 4 p.m.
