Scouts mounting extra food drive

The local Scouts BSA Troops 24 and 52 will be doing another food drive for the Care and Share Food Bank.

It was brought to the scouts’ attention that the food bank is running especially low on food, so they thought another food drive would be a good way to help out, said Kim Stout with the scouts.

As they usually do once a year, the scouts will be dropping off bags this weekend, March 20-21, then pick them back up the following Saturday, March 27. They will start picking up about 9 a.m.

The local food bank is particularly looking for canned vegetables, canned fruit, and boxes of Mac’n’cheese. They can’t take expired items or giant-sized cans from Costco.

There are now two troops of “Scouts BSA” in the area, one for boys and one for girls. If you wish your child was out doing community service, camping, playing outside, and more, you can call Kim Stout at 509-631-1759 to find out more.
